CHACS HINDU IMMERSION SCHOOL (Click here to visit the school's website) CHACS Hindu Immersion School is the new full-time Canadian Hindu academic day school, proudly opening September 2003. This Preparatory Hindu school will be an independent, co-educational school for children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years. We are now registering new students. Mission
To teach children about Hinduism and it's Arts and Culture at an early age.
School The school covers the Canadian Ministry of Education curriculum and includes Hinduism, and Hindu Arts and Culture, which will give children the scope to acquire the respected values of Hindu Life. We will teach Hindi Immersion classes, so that children can learn to converse in Hindi. We will support all our children in order for them to make the best of their talents. There is more to life than just academic development, and we intend to allow children to flourish to their full potential. Parents play an important role in the educational experiences of their child, especially in the early years, and we encourage parents to join and share in school activities. We firmly believe that a partnership between parents, their children and the school will provide a lasting and supportive learning environment. School HoursThe school day: 8:30am - 4:30pm. Late stay classes run until 5:30pm. Early morning drop-off starts from 8:00am. HolidaysThe school observes all statutory holidays, as well as all Hindu religious days. There will be breaks in December, March, and over the Summer. AttireThere is a school uniform, which parents can purchase from the school. Children should also have outdoor clothing. Health and SafetyOn registration, parents must complete a medical form. All parental contact details listed with the school must be kept up to date. Please also provide us with a list of people authorized to pick up your child. Nutrition During the mid-morning break milk and cookies will be provided. For lunch the children will receive a nourishing, strictly vegetarian meal. All food children bring to school must be vegetarian. Activities/ClassesWe will offer a variety of activities and classes, tailored to meet the needs of our pre-school children. All children will be encouraged to take part in a wide range of these activities. · Academic studies such as English (Reading and Writing), and Math. · Hindi Language classes. · Hindi Immersion classes. · Singing of traditional Indian songs. · Music (including teaching of musical instruments). · Bollywood Style Dancing. · Art. · Sports and Games. · Field trips to a variety of places. Every month the children will put on an item for parents and friends, such as plays, recitals and concerts. Parent IssuesEvery month we will hold parent-teacher meetings to address any concerns or other issues you may like to discuss.
